Under the general supervision of the Radiologist & Director of Radiology, the Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for the provision of ultrasonic diagnostic procedures to patients according to physicians' orders. Provides for patient safety and high quality testing.
A. Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound program or accredited school of Radiology Technology with continuing education (1 or 2 years)in the study of ultrasound.
B. Current registration with A.R.R.T. (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist)certified in Ultrasound and/or certified with RDMS in ultrasound.
C. Certified by the Texas Department of Health if currently holding registration in A.R.R.T.(only
required if technologist are to perform x-ray/CT
D. Previous experience in hospital environment preferred.
