This position is subject to the COVID-19 Vaccination Policy for Steward Health Care Workforce. Employees in this position will be required to provide adequate proof of vaccination for COVID-19 by an FDA-approved vaccine prior to starting work. POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general direction of the Clinical Director of Women’s Services, the Maternal Program Manager (MPM)is responsible for is responsible for the coordination, supervision, and management of the clinical, educational, planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of all components of the Maternal Services Program. They have the authority and responsibility to monitor the provisions of maternal care services, from admission and stabilization to discharge.

In addition, this includes responsibilities for the QAPI Program for Maternal Services. Collaborates with the Maternal Medical Director (MMD) and Director of Women’s Services in areas to include, but not limited:

  • Developing and/or revising policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Assuring staff competency, education, and training
  • Responsible for the QAPI Program for Maternal Services
  • Regularly participates in the perinatal and neonatal committee meetings
  • Develops collaborative relationships with other Maternal Program Managers of designated facilities within the applicable Perinatal Care Region Advisory Council.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas
  • Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience in maternal childcare services required; previous experience in maternal child services nursing preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as teaching and presentation skills.
  • Must have and maintain a current certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or equivalent course approved by the Department of State Health Services (DSHS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) as recognized by the American Heart Association.
  • Must have and maintain a current certification in Advanced Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation Program (ACLS) or equivalent course approved by the Department of State Health Services (DSHS)within six months of hire and throughout employment.
  • Must have and maintain certification in Intermediate Fetal Monitoring within 90 days of hire and throughout employment.
  • Must have and maintain certification in Advanced Fetal Monitoring within six months of hire and throughout employment.
  • Prior to hire or within 90 days of hire, completion of the S.T.A.B.L.E. Course Program
  • Leadership and management skills demonstrated through experience.
