Quality Coordinator provides leadership for the Emergency Department, Cath Lab, Telemetry, ICU and PCU along with other entities within the cardiac service line to promote excellence in cardiac patient care. Coordinates and oversees the ongoing CQI process to improve care of the cardiac patient population.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A. Graduate from an accredited school of nursing;
B. Current RN licensure to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas;
C. Minimum of three (3) years of acute clinical nursing experience involved in the direct care of the ACS patient in the ED, Cath Lab, CCU or Telemetry units.
D. Must have and maintain current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR); Prefer CEN and CCRN.
E. Educational requirements include eight (8) hours of acute coronary syndrome care and/or cardiovascular related courses annually;
F. Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as teaching and presentation skills; and
G. Leadership and management skills.
H. Proficiency in using Microsoft programs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and computer database systems.
